Surgery

Before you have surgery, your doctor will talk to you about the best type of operation for you. This depends on where the carcinoid tumour is, how big it is and whether it has spread.

Preparing for surgery

You have an appointment at the pre assessment clinic 1 or 2 weeks before your operation. Find out what happens and the tests you might have.

Going into hospital

On the day of your neuroendocrine tumour (NET) operation, you might have a general anaesthetic or you may only have sedation.

After surgery

Find out how you’ll feel during the first few days after your surgery for a NET, about making progress and going home.
